Bournemouth Bloggers Best Bits Part 2

Hello and welcome to part 2 of my blog series ‘Bournemouth Bloggers Best Bits’. If you already read part 1 then you will know that my second year of uni came to an end which means i’m out of bournemouth for year and no more bournemouth bloggers events for a year. So I’m writing a 3 part blog on the best bits over the past few months and why you should join the Bournemouth Bloggers!!

So part 2 of the best bit series is all about The Real Eating Company!! This was one of my favourite blogger events so wish I had written about it sooner, another great thing about being part of the bournemouth bloggers is not just the gifted things but the amount of fun you have while at the events. The events have given me the platform to meet people I never normally would have which means I have discovered so many interesting blogs.

And The Real Eating Company definitely aided in creating that social and homely vibe, the perfect destination for a coffee and catch up with friends, especially due to its central location. But it isn’t just Bournemouth that is attracting The Real Eating company as I already knew about the brand as there is one just by where I live at home in Chichester as well as Portsmouth so hopefully there is one just as close to you! They really are expanding across the south coast and I can see why.

First of all, the malteser hot chocolate is amazing and have been back many times just for that!! But what makes the bournemouth branch stand out is the newest Lunch’d boxes.

The Lunch’d boxes include..

MY PHAT GREEK BOX: Aubergine Moussaka & Quinoa Greek Salad with hummus & balsamic dressing (this is the box that the Bournemouth Bloggers got to try)

JERK CHICKEN BOX: Pulled Jerk Chick Roasted Sweet potato & Quinoa Super Salad with pomegranate seeds & lime. Served with seasonal slaw.

The moussaka was amazing and almost had a cottage pie vibe so even if you aren’t a veggie, the flavours come through!! And of course I was just obsessed with the quinoa, because I eat it on the daily anyway.

Something that really interested me that one of the other bloggers mentioned is that you can eat it one handed. Which sounds strange at first but when breastfeeding or with children, you need something one handed so perfect for parents!!

The only thing with the boxes is on student budget you wouldn't be able to eat them all the time as they are priced at £6.95 a box, but 100% worth the money when you want to eat out!!

The owners of both these companies are so nice so pop in to say hello and support the smaller business in bournemouth!!

Oli Perron, founder of Lunch’d adds, “we’ve been approached before to white label for other cafe groups, but the opportunity to collaborate as a pop-up with The real Eating Company to showcase our new seasonal Hotboxes felt like a perfect match. We’ve been solely supplying offices since the first lunch in 2013, so this will be the first time non-office based customers can try us out.” Lunch’d was launched in 2014 providing healthy, gluten and dairy free meals including vegan options to companies across the county in a subscription basis and also caters for events.

Helena Hudson, the owner of Real Eating Company says, “we are thrilled that Lunch’d is coming to the Real Eating Company Bournemouth. Oli creates and cooks really delicious healthy food and I can’t wait for our customers to try it. It’s also great to be able to offer this opportunity to a successful, smaller company when the cost of being on the high street is increasingly prohibitive.” The Real Eating Company has had a site in Bournemouth for 4 years now, having been names ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at Dorset Food, Drink and Farming Awards. It is an independent business with a collection of food destinations in five towns in the South East – using local products whenever they can all day.
