TWO VEGANS TAKE ON PARIS

So back in November me and my bf em decided to become vegans for a month as part of cancer research veg pledge! The same month we also decided to book a last min trip to Paris….

No croissants, macaroons, cheese??? BUT WE SURVIVED!! Check out below what we ate and a few cute vegan spots we found across Paris!!

HANK BURGER

Ok so this was our first stop in Paris after reading so many good reviews about it online. It was really cute, quirky and had a shabby chic vibe upstairs. They did a really good value meal deal so I got the big mac style burger and it was sooo nice. They did lack the alcoholic drinks so went for an IPA which didn’t go down too well.

COFFEE BREAK

So one of the difficult things in Paris was the lack of dairy free milk which resulted in many black coffees…… but I finally found somewhere that had oat, almond AND SOYA milk!! The excitement was real especially with a cute lil motivational quote.

SUPERMARKET LUNCH

So on our stroles around the eiffel tower we popped into this mini supermarket and they basically had a fancy harvester salad bar so we were in our ELEMENT and filled up on falafels and hummus next to the river. It was a bit of a nightmare finding lunch spots because most places had cheese baguettes and croissants and we couldn’t eat any of that but we persevered!

CARBS CARBS CARBS

It’s safe to say when being a vegan I ate more pasta and bread than I ever have before! Whenever there's a lack of vegan options a portion of chips seems to be the easiest option! One night our dinner was literally 2 bowls of pasta, bread and a portion of chips. So many people think being a vegan is a healthier way of life but NO, especially not in europe where the veganism hasn’t hit yet.

BRUNCHING

So what's one of the first things you do when you get to Paris … google ‘most instagrammable brunches in Paris’. We found the cutest place Cafe Foufou that had the most beautiful avocado on toast and oat milk = heaven.

So we ordered the avocado and egg on toast but requested no egg but when our food came the waitress said it wasn’t possible to take the egg off??? Strange??? So yeah we had to take the eggs off and put them in a napkin which broke my heart cause they popped so nice and the yolk looked so good:( but was all for a good cause!!
